I use only my own handmade glass in all my designs. I design and make each piece individually using a combination of Effetre, Creation is Messy, Lauscha, TAG, Ask and Vetrofond Glass. All the glass I use has a CoE of 104, which in simple terms means they can be used together. Using a variety of glass from different sources gives me a huge colour palette when designing my little works of art.
Called lampworking, I make each piece of glass from glass rods using a specially designed torch. The glass melts as I work it on a mandrel in the flame whilst carefully moulding it in to my desired shape and adding my design. Once I am happy with the result, the glass goes into my kiln where it is annealed for a number of hours. This ensures that the glass is as strong as it can possibly be. Once annealed the glass is cleaned ready for use in one of my brangle designs. Although I describe my brangles as limited editions, each one is unique because no two pieces of glass are exactly the same.
